Calendula Tincture – Product Overview

Our 100% natural Calendula Mother Tincture is an herbal extract made from the Calendula Officinalis flower. (Also known as the pot marigold). This tincture is part of our Medicinal Range made to support everyday health and wellbeing. Calendula flowers are grown here at Return to Health. This is a pesticide-free garden in the beautiful Tallebudgera Valley. We also steep our tinctures on premises, so that we can be assured of a quality natural product. Calendula Tincture is beautifully presented in a 10ml dripolator bottle.

Calendula uses and dilutions

Calendula has been used in medicine for thousands of years. It is widely used in many countries, and flowers throughout the year. It has long been known for its disinfecting, healing and repairing properties. It is especially known for supporting the skin and for use around the home, There are many possible Calendula extract uses, due to its powerful antiviral and antimicrobial properties. It is a great antiseptic for:

Wounds.

You can dilute Calendula Tincture and use it to clean minor wounds and promote skin repair. You can also use it undiluted (please note this will sting an open wound).
It reduces bleeding and the anti-inflammatory properties help promote faster wound healing. It will also soothe the pain associated with many wounds, and even helps to minimise scar tissue. It really is your best friend in your natural medicine cabinet!

Skin.

Calendula extract has good results in some cases for the treatment of acne, psoriasis and nappy rash. Dilute with your daily face wash, body wash, nappy cream or moisturiser for these purposes. It will soothe the skin, minimise irritation and inhibit bacteria, complimenting your immune system’s natural response to germs.

Fungal infections.

Use diluted or as a foot wash, to help treat skin infections like athlete’s foot, external thrush and ringworm. Or use undiluted on external warts or fungal nails.

Mouth wash.

Calendula’s antibacterial properties make it a great mouthwash. Dilute the tincture in warm water and rinse in the mouth to relieve inflammation.

Cleaning.

Use diluted to disinfect bench tops and other surfaces.
